Projek Ikan Pusu, the team to beat
Friday, 30 July 2010 09:44

Projek Ikan Pusu (PIP) are the team to beat in the Under-14 National League and coach Hj Omar Hj Jamil knows this for a fact.
After notching a hat-trick of wins following the 7-0 decimation of Rimba Secondary School last Sunday, Hj Omar believes that PIP have the most complete squad in the league.
"Players like Ak Yura (Indera Putera Pg Yunos), (Md Abd) Zulfadli (Abdullah), Md Aman (Hj Abd Rahim) and Md Afif never fail to accurately feed strikers Abdul Khair (Hj Basri) and Md Firdaus (Awang Wasli). Meanwhile at the backline, our defenders possess enough height and good control," said the coach.
"All 11 players on the field are experienced, full of potential and also have the height advantage," he said.
"Though in the end the scoreline was at 7-0, the match was PIP's all the way and we could have scored more. We were totally in control of the first half and our goalkeeper was only tested two times in the latter half," added Hj Omar.
The coach went on to credit the team's excellent results to their four times a week training, which he said is one of their advantages.
"This year the gap is very wide between each respective team's preparations and strategy. Hopefully once we progress into the second round, then the real quality will show," he said.
Temburong will have the chance to deliver PIP's first taste of defeat at Field B of the Menglait Sports Complex.
Meanwhile at Field A of the Menglait Sports Complex will be the match between Perkasa and Kota Ranger.
Tutong Co-curriculum Education Department scheme will host Rimba at the Tutong Sports Complex. All matches will kick off at 4pm.
