Brunei Softball Players Train During Ramadhan

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei Darussalam Amateur Softball and Baseball Association (BASBA) started their training on Monday evening at the Balapan Stadium, National Stadium Complex.

Seventeen elite and 17 training pool players have been selected. They are undergoing training to prepare for the South East Asian (SEA) Games, which will be hosted by Indonesia in 2011.

BSB Netball Competition

Bandar Seri Begawan - The BSB Municipal Board department will be hosting a netball competition in conjunction with the 40th anniversary renaming of Bandar Brunei to Bandar Seri Begawan on Oct 24 at the Multipurpose Hall of Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.

The competition is op-en to the public. Registration forms can be obtained at the lower level of BSB Municipal Board department at in Kumbang Pasang and the closing date for entries is Oct 5 at 3pm. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin

   

Youth U-23 Basketball

Bandar Seri Begawan - Local basketball teams are invited to take part in the Youth Under-23 Basketball Tournament on Sept 11 at the Batu Bersurat basketball court.

The tournament is open to all residents of Brunei Darussalam born after September 1987. The closing date for entries is Sept 8.

Brunei wants better sporting goods

A majority of those interviewed have expressed the lack of confidence in purchasing sporting goods, apparel and equipment in Brunei, citing concerns of authenticity.

As the Sultanate's population continues to become more aware and realise the importance of healthy living, more and more are taking it to the gym for a workout but just how easy is it for those living in the country to obtain the necessary sporting gear and equipment on the go in Brunei?

Do people actually find the goods that they want in terms of value for money?

Going to the gym or simply going for a jog, people want to feel comfortable, while looking good.

But this might be easier said than done as many have expressed the lack of choice or security when purchasing branded sporting goods.
