No Bruneian Casualty in Jakarta

Bandar Seri Begawan - No Bruneians were injured in the bomb blast that ripped through two hotels in Jakarta yesterday morning.

According to Indonesian journalists who were contacted yesterday, most of the injured are westerners and some from the Asian region.

"From the lists of injured collected, no Bruneians were included in it," said one of the journalists working for the Jakarta Bureau of a foreign paper, Among the injured were Americans, Australians and some from South Korea and India.

At least nine people died in the twin blast, which hit the JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton Hotels in the upscale business district of Jakarta Fifty-two other people were reported injured from the explosion.

Brunei embassy officials in Jakarta were unavailable at press time to provide further confirmation.
