A thousand fans greet new Lexus

A THOUSAND enthusiasts turned up yesterday for NBT’s launch of the much-anticipated Lexus IS300C.
The latest member of the popular IS300 family is a hardtop convertible. In less than 21 seconds, the roof will retract completely into the boot, and still have enough room for a golf set.

The opening and closing of this roof gives the driver an exciting `Transformers’ (as in the movie) kind of experience while seated in the amply well-spaced interior.

It’s the latest and the sportiest evolution of the IS300 series.

For all it’s sporty, aggressive-looking and racy image, the IS300C is in the price range of $87,970 on the road.
A self-confessed IS300 diehard fan, Pg Noorshah Pg Hj Shamsuddin, who came from Kuala Belait for the launch, said: “I am sold on the IS300C. It’s like getting two cars for the price of one.
“It will be a nice present for my wife’s upcoming birthday next month.”

Also on display at the Lexus Showroom is the equally eye-catching Lexus IS300 Sport Art that has the name and logo boldly emblazoned across its body, giving the already sporty car, an even more flashy and racy look.
The star of the day however is still the IS300C. There are not too many convertibles on Brunei roads and it should do well in its market segment, given its stunning good looks and versatility. (courtesy of Borneo Bulletin)
