A sneak peak at the VS holiday collection and runway show looks.
Victoria's Secret previewed its holiday collection, the collection that will be featured on the brand's glitzy runway show, at the Bryant Park Hotel's penthouse suite during Fashion Week. Kristin Larson of MSN's Fashion Week popped into the VS lounge on Monday and got an early glimpse of the inspiration sketches and looks that will eventually strut down the runway on models like Alessandra Ambrosio, Marisa Miller and Miranda Kerr.
The VS runway show is returning live to New York and taping Nov. 19 at the Lexington Armory, said Jennifer Fahey, public relations manager at VS. A new look debuting on the catwalk will be the shapewear collection, which Fahey calls the retro 1940s look.
"What you see here are the sketches of what you’ll see on the runway," Fahey said. "You can really see how the product matches back to the sketches. It’s really kind of like bringing it to life on the runway."
And no one can dispute the power of wearing the right undergarments—which Fahey said is the primary reason VS was present at Fashion Week. "In order to have a good looking outfit you have to have the right foundation [pieces]," she said. While the VS runway show tapes Nov. 19, the holiday collection—including the new shapewear line—will start arriving in VS stores in October.
