New York Police Take Aim at Pattinson's Security Team

New York City police officials have criticized Robert Pattinson's security team -- insisting the Twilight actor's bodyguards are incapable of handling the mobs he's attracted while filming in the city.

The star has been shooting his new movie, Remember Me, in the Big Apple and was recently struck by a taxi while trying to escape a group of over-excited devotees.

New York City Police officials insist the 23-year-old needs better minders to cope with mounting safety concerns.

A police source tells IrishCentral.com, "Enough is enough. His security people aren't up to the task of keeping him safe, and they have no idea how to deal with the crowds this guy attracts."

Just last month, Pattinson urged his fans to treat him with more respect and keep their distance -- admitting he is often scared to go outside because of the screaming girls who follow his every move.

He told reporters, "People ambush me and try and find out what hotel I'm staying at, as well as wanting to touch my hair. Everyone just screams and screams. It feels surreal." (courtesy of hollywood)

Lindsay Lohan Prison Diary: Week 2
30 July 2010
Day 10, 1 pm I really appreciate my family bringing me Twizzlers. It fixates me orally, so I'm not thinking about the cell I'm confined to, but rather, the music I'm dedicated to writing in here...
