Avater or Titanic

Will Avatar overtake Titanic? Well, I would believe that Avatar can replace Titanic worldwide which is US $1.8 billion and at the moment, Avatar is already at US $1.4 billion worldwide and the movie was just released like four weeks ago. So realistically Avatar can beat the worldwide milestone set by Titanic back in 1998.
However, in domestic revenue (United States), Avatar have earned $490 million in four weeks and it's on course to beat The Dark Knight which a total run of $533 million. The Dark Knight stands as the 2nd highest domestic revenue after Titanic which still stands at No.1 with $600 million. So Avatar needs stronger legs in the next few weeks or months to beat the likes of Titanic.. Worldwide, yes.. But domestically, the possibility is there...
The success of Avatar was also contributed by the availability of Avatar in 3D. A few of my friends have caught it and they bragged that it was a great experience. Should Avatar 3D wasn't around, I doubt that the figures of Avatar would be as big as this. I might just watch it again if I have ample time as the movie is almost 3 hours long LOL..
