Pelangi Awards Fetes Local Stars

Bandar Seri Begawan - Maria and Fakhrul Razi Memerged as top winners for the Chosen Female Vocal and Chosen Male Vocal at the Pelangi Awards 2008/2009 held at Jerudong Park Country Club Amphitheatre.
Presenting the award to Maria was Song Kin Koi, the Managing Director of Telbru; and presenting the award to Fakhrul Razi was Dato Jack Ting of Cityneon Displays and Constructions.
Sheikh Jamaluddin Sheikh Mohammad, the Director of Tourism presented the award for Chosen Duo/Group to `The Seeds'.
The last award, Chosen Song was won by Adie with the song entitled Tentang Kita' where the award was presented by the guest of honour, Dato Seri Paduka Eussoff Agaki Hj Ismail, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office.
This year's theme 'Fantasy', based on escapism was a big hit with the 3,500-strong audience.
Said the Acting Director of RTB, Pg Haji Mahari Pg Hj Abd Razak, "We are thrilled that this was very well received by the public."
The main sponsors for the event were TelBru, Brunei Tourism and B.Mobile supported by Jerudong Park Country Club, Safari Bistro Restaurant and Catering, Brunei Press and the Empire Hotel and Country
Club while Cityneon Displays and Construction managed the event.
Five categories were contested for during the event namely, Chosen Female Vocal, Chosen Male Vocal, Chosen Newcomer, Chosen Duo/Group and Chosen Song.
The Pelangi Award is held, once every two years, hosted by Radio Television Brunei (RTB) to honour and I recognise the hard work and effort put in by artistes in
