Jason Derulo Scores First U.K. No. 1

Jason Derulo's "In My Head" (Warner Bros.) became the American singer's first U.K. No. 1 single, as Lady Gaga's "The Fame" (Interscope/Universal) started a new stint atop the album chart, and the top ten welcomed new hit albums by Marina and the Diamonds, the Courteeners and Johnny Cash.

"In My Head," which holds at No. 9 on this week's Billboard Hot 100, follows up Derulo's U.S. No. 1 "Whatcha Say," which reached No. 3 in the U.K. and was top ten in several other European countries.

The new single held Florence & the Machine and Dizzee Rascal's "mash-up" "You Got The Dirtee Love" (Dirtee Stank/Universal Island) at No. 2, where it debuted last week after the two artists performed it together at the BRIT Awards Feb. 16. Rihanna's "Rude Boy" (Def Jam/Universal) climbed 6-3.

Also new on the Official Charts Company's Feb. 28 singles chart was BRIT Award Critics' Choice winner Ellie Goulding's "Starry Eyed" (Polydor/Universal) at No. 4, and Sugababes' 18th top ten hit "Wear My Kiss" (Universal Island) at No. 8.

JLS climbed 14-10 with "One Shot" (Epic/Sony Music Entertainment) while Philadelphia hip-hop act Chiddy Bang's "The Opposite of Adults" (Regal/EMI) debuted at No. 12. Cheryl Cole's "Parachute" (Fascination/Polydor/Universal) climbed 19-11, Marina and the Diamonds' debut hit "Hollywood" climbed back 22-13 and Leona Lewis' latest hit "I Got You" (Syco Music/Sony Music Entertainment) improved 40-14.

"The Fame" had four weeks at No. 1 on the U.K. album chart last April and May, and returned to the summit, 2-1, in its 59th week, having been back in the top ten for the previous 11 weeks. Marina and the Diamonds, otherwise known as Welsh-born singer Marina Diamandis, followed her singles chart success by debuting at No. 5 with her first album "The Family Jewels" (679/Warner Music).

Manchester rock quartet the Courteeners followed the No. 4 peak of their 2008 debut "St. Jude" with a No. 6 entry for their sophomore album "Falcon" (A&M/Universal).

JLS's self-titled debut continued to climb, 17-8, while Johnny Cash's posthumous "American VI: Ain't No Grave" (American/Sony Music Entertainment) entered at No. 9, mirroring the debut of its 2006 predecessor. Folk/Americana-influenced London band Mumford & Sons returned 18-10 with their debut album "Sigh No More" (Universal Island), Rihanna's "Rated R" improved ten places to No. 16 and veteran hitmakers the Hollies, who will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame March 15, entered at No. 23 with the new double CD "Midas Touch - The Very Best of the Holles" (EMI).

Sade's "Soldier of Love" (Epic/Sony Music Entertainment) is in a second week atop Billboard's European Albums chart, while Ke$ha leads European Hot 100 Singles for a fourth week with "Tik Tok" (RCA/Sony Music Entertainment).

'Glee' Tops U.K. Album Chart

"Glee The Music Season One Vol. 1" (Epic/Sony Music Entertainment) raced from No. 68 to top the new U.K. album chart.

Sony's all-star Helping Haiti charity cover of " Everybody Hurts," on Syco Music, started a second week as bestselling single, as Lady Gaga and Florence and the Machine's BRIT Awards success last week generated new sales on both charts.

The "Glee" album had been in the Official Charts Company's top 75 for three weeks on import sales, but raced to the summit last night (Feb. 21) on sales of 62,000 according to the Official Charts Company, following its official U.K. release last Monday (Feb. 15).

"Volume 2," which is set for a March 15 release, is just outside the top 75 on import sales. Tracks from the series continue to populate the singles chart, with "Don't Stop Believin'" down 5-7, "Halo"/"Walking on Sunshine" holding at No. 9, "It's My Life"/"Confessions Pt II" down 14-20, "Keep Holding On" new at No. 47, "No Air" new at No. 52 and "Somebody To Love" down 33-56.

Lady Gaga's "The Fame" (Interscope/Universal) climbed 5-2 on the new survey and Florence and the Machine's "Lungs" (Universal Island) 9-3. Florence's live BRITs performance with Dizzee Rascal, a "mash-up" of her "You Got The Love" hit and Dizzee's "Dirtee Cash," raced straight to No. 2 behind the Helping Haiti single, after being made available immediately after the show exclusively via iTunes. Florence's solo version also benefited, climbing back 29-12.

Alicia Keys' live performance at the BRIT Awards with Jay-Z did not prevent her "The Element of Freedom" (J/Sony Music Entertainment) falling 1-4 on the album chart, although their single "Empire State of Mind" (Roc Nation/Warner Music) jumped back 25-16. Her solo version dipped 4-5. Jay-Z's "The Blueprint III" album climbed 22-10.

The album chart also had new entries for Owl City's "Ocean Eyes" (Universal Island) at No. 7 and Peter Gabriel's "Scratch My Back" (Virgin/EMI) at No. 12. Other BRITs winners to see improved album sales were Robbie Williams, up 21-8 with "Reality Killed The Video Star" (Virgin/EMI); JLS, up 23-17 with their self-titled Epic/Sony debut; and Kasabian, improving 63-20 with "West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum" (Columbia/Sony).

Other singles chart highlights included a 10-6 climb for Rihanna's "Rude Boy" (Def Jam/Universal) and a new entry at No. 8 for Lemar's "The Way Love Goes" (Epic/Sony), the U.K. R&B star's seventh U.K. top 10 single but first since "It's Not That Easy" in September 2006.

Mariah Carey admits to having a facial complex

Mariah Carey has had a complex about her face since she was 19.

The 40-year-old singer admits she has always been self-conscious about her appearance after somebody at her record company pointed it out.

She said: 'I remember starting out and being at a record company at 19 and having someone tell me, 'This is your good side and this is your bad side. Don’t ever let anyone take pictures of you from that side. You look terrible from that side,’ and so on. It created this whole complex – like I didn’t already have a complex!'

Mariah - whose mother is Irish-American and her father was an African-American of Venezuelan descent – says she has always been insecure about her looks because she’s mixed-race.

She said: 'I felt very different as a bi-racial person. Growing up where I did, being half-black and half-white was a weird and difficult thing because I didn’t quite fit in either place and I moved around a lot. So when I went from that to this world it was like, let’s create an inferiority complex before we make this person go on TV and try to have confidence. So it was all about building self-confidence.'

Alicia Keys feels 'blessed' with love

Alicia Keys feels she has been "blessed" with love.

The 'Empire State of Mind' singer - who is rumoured to be engaged to DJ Swizz Beatz - says she's been lucky with the relationships she's had and has always gone for strong and confident men.

She said: "I've never dated a ton of people, I've always been a one-guy kind of girl, but I have to say that I've always been lucky with love, blessed with it. Overall I haven't had any terrible relationships - apart from a couple of little stupid ones when I was younger, but at that age you kinda can't help it.

"But I've always had really great guys in my life, you know? They've been very stable men as well. I need a guy who is strong-minded, not intimidated by me - I don't like those kind of guys."

Alicia also revealed her joy at reconciling with her father, after being estranged for several years, and is now forming a relationship with her half-brother.

She told You magazine: "He is 18 and the sweetest, handsomest person on earth. I never felt like I was lacking anything when my father wasn't there during my childhood - thanks to my mother and grandmother, I felt I had everything. And I think my reconciliation with my father has just been a matter of growing up. There was never any malice on any side and I understand life better now, that nothing is cut-and-dried."

Nicole Scherzinger to rebuild Lewis Hamilton relationship

Nicole Scherzinger reportedly devised a three-point plan to help rebuild her relationship with rebuild Lewis Hamilton.

The Pussycat Dolls singer - who rekindled her romance with the Formula One racing driver earlier this month - realised things needed change if they wanted it to work so came up with rules, which include spending quality time together.

A source told Britain's Hello! magazine: "The reason they split in January was because they were hardly spending any time together, but crucially they never fell out of love. It was just before Valentine's Day during a tearful heart-to-heart that they decided to give their relationship another go.

"Nicole agreed after laying down strict guidelines to put more romance into their relationship. One of those was that she didn't want any interruptions when they dine out, meaning Lewis agreed to leave his BlackBerry at home. They also thought it would be an idea not to read tabloid stories about each other."

The final part of the plan was that Lewis spoke to Nicole everyday - rather than just textinhg - while Nicole, 31, has agreed to reschedule her diary to spend more with her 25-year-old beau.

Nicole and Lewis confirmed they were back together after they were spotted holding hands and kissing at the Grove Shopping Centre in Los Angeles.

An onlooker said: "They were all over each other while chatting to fans. They were both completely smitten."

Nicole, 31, also joked with a shop assistant when she was asked if there was anything particular she was looking for, saying: "This year - my wedding dress."

The pair split in early January after 20 months together, with both blaming their hectic careers for the separation.
