High Flyers RBRC Champion
Bandar Seri Begawan - High Flyers emerged champion of the Royal Brunei Recreation Club (RBRC) 9-a-side Football League 2011 after defeating Traffic ABC 2-0 in the final at the RBRC field yesterday.
High Flyers won all three matches in the preliminary round defeating Coffers 1-0, HMSF 2-0 and Baiduri also with the score of 2-0. High Flyers then continued their fine form in the quarterfinal beating BIBD FT 2-0 to reach the semifinal.
In the semifinal match, High Flyers comprising Royal Brunei Airlines air-stewards won 1-0 against RBC 'A' to reach the final.
Meanwhile, RBC 'A' finished third in the League after winning 3-1 against Kheir FC in a penalty shootout.
Present to hand over medals and trophies was the guest-of-honour, Aji Puteh, the RBRC Vice President Corporate Service.
A total of 16 teams competed in this year's league with eight in-house teams and another eight invited teams.
