BDTA men's open 2nd leg sees all-unseeded semis

Top seed Abdul Rasheed Abdullah was sent crashing out of the last eight of the 2nd leg of the BDTA Open Men Singles, trailing 5-4 in the first set last night against Billy Wong before retiring from the match due to stomach pains.
THERE are no more seeds left heading into the semi-finals of the Brunei Darussalam Tennis Association (BDTA) Open Men Singles 2nd Leg.
Top seed Abdul Rasheed Abdullah never saw the end of the quarter-final clash against Billy Wong retiring while trailing 5-4 in the first set last night at the National Tennis Centre of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.
Having made to move around the court much of the first set with the hard hitting Wong, Abdul Rasheed was forced to retire after feeling pains in his stomach.
"I just didn't feel well at that point and had pains in my stomach area.
"I vomited and I knew that there was no way I could continue.
"Billy hits quite hard and I just couldn't keep," said Abdul Rasheed, who is also the BDTA tournament secretary, in an interview with The Brunei Times after the game.
Wong will next play Nurul Mohd Andi Hambali, who defeated the third-seeded Jonathan Manacap 6-3, 7-6 (1) in the quarter-final.
Justin Seow cruised past the second seed Harin Saraw 6-0, 6-0 for his second straight bagel in the competition.
The win allows him to set up a date against Jason Tay in the last four.
Tay made easy work of Law Vi Yen 6-0, 6-1 in their quarter-final encounter.
The semi-finals wills be held tomorrow at the same venue starting at 7pm.
