Road closures in capital on National Day

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - THE Royal Brunei Police Force would like to inform the public that there will be a major road closure due to the General Assembly on the 28th National Day this Thursday (February 23).
All roads leading to the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien as listed below will be affected.
1. Jalan Tutong traffic light (in front of Ba'adiah Building).
2. 4 junction traffic lights at High Court Building.
3. Jalan Haji Basir 3 junction traffic light (near Fire Station) towards Taman Jubli.
4. Jalan Bendahara traffic light (near Chung Hua Secondary School). - This includes the traffic lights atJawatan Dalam, Jalan Kebangsaan, Jalan Sekolah, Jalan Tasek and Jalan Sentosa (Big Screen TV area).
5. Jalan Stoney road extending towards Bandar Seri Begawan Police Station and Jalan Elizabeth 2
6. Jalan Kianggeh 4 Junction traffic lights.
7. Along Jalan Tamu Kianggeh across the Chinese Temple.
8. Along Jalan Residency stretch towards Jalan Mc Arthur.
According to the Traffic Control and Investigations Department, there will be no parking near or around the vicinity of the Taman. Any vehicles found parked around the area will be towed.
All access to Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien will be strictly closed for parking except for emergency vehicles and VIP and VVIPS.
These roads include:
a. Jalan Mc Arthur/ Jalan Sultan/Jalan Robert's traffic light.
b. Jalan Elizabeth 2.
c. Sepanjang Jalan Sumbiling.
d. Jalan Sultan.
e. Jalan Pemancha (Canon in place).
Alternate parking will also be available during the day although it is not recommended as it's usually fully packed by 6am.
These locations are:
1. Along Jalan Kianggeh going towards Jubilee Hotel.
2. Jalan Residency going towards Ministry Of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Jalan Subok.
Shuttle buses will be available on the day for participants and the audience.
Pick-up sites will be at Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah and dropping points will be at Jalan Bendahara.
Dropping points and pick-up points for participants from government sectors, educational institutions will be along the road of the Christian cemetery, Jalan Tamu Selera and Jalan Bendahara. For those who wish to take their own cars into town, the Traffic Control and Investigations Department has suggested several alternate routes.
These are:
1. Jalan Lebuhraya Hassanal Bolkiah.
2. Jalan Tutong going towards Old Muara road.
3. Jalan Kumbang Pasang going towards Jalan Menteri Besar and Jalan Sungai Akar.
4. Jalan Gadong.
