Accidents In Temburong And Tutong Districts

The two-car accident in Temburong

Temburong - An accident near Kampong Belaban, Jalan Batang Duri in Temburong District involving two vehicles happened at around 8pm Sunday during heavy rain.

One of the vehicles climbed the road safety barrier while the other ran into the bushes.

The injured passengers were rushed to PIHM Temburong Hospital for further treatment.

Police from Bangar Police Station and Fire and Rescue personnel from Bangar Fire Station were rushed to the scene to help the victims before the ambulance arrived.

Meanwhile, another accident was reported by the Fire and Rescue Department yesterday when two cars from opposite side of the road collided. The accident occurred at around 5.35am near a school in front of Spg 429, Jalan Kg Keriam in Tutong District.

The Fire and Rescue Department in Berakas received the call and sent eight firefighters and the team was led by DSO Md Hanafi bin Haji Md Zain.

According to the Commander of the Tutong Fire Station, SO Muhammad Ali, who later visited the scene, foreigners were involved in the accident.

One of the drivers was trapped inside the car and unconscious. Meanwhile, two passengers, aged 11 and 17, were successfully rescued from the car with the help of the firefighters. They were rushed to Tutong Hospital for treatment.

The driver and another passenger that were trapped were later removed by the rescue team within a few minutes using special equipment.

The victims had minor injuries to their knees and legs and were transferred to RIPAS Hospital. The other car involved was driven by an Indonesian national and he too suffered only minor injuries to his chest.
